Time and prey
Visions of the motionless in Des pas sur la neige of Debussy (ma anche Oiseaux tristes di Ravel)
and in Soleil de proie of Hugues Dufourt
Meeting with Alfonso Alberti
One of the revolutions of Claude Debussy is his use of a tempo that turns around or even stops, stagnant, instead of moving forward. The Preludio for piano Des pas sur la neige is a clear example of this. In Soleil de proie for two pianos by Hugues Dufourt the masked reference to Des pas sur la neige gives the opportunity for a reflection on today and on the non-linearity of time.
